Welcome to Terrific Third Grade AND Fabulous Fourth Grade!  Yes, Mrs. McSpadden and I are teaching two grades this year; I will have the 4th grade homeroom and she will have the 3rd grade homeroom.  We will make sure that with teamwork we will make the dream of success work this year at Hamilton Elementary School!

Hamilton is a wonderful school, and I am excited to celebrate my 22nd year as a teacher at the best school in CFISD!  My entire teaching career has been right here in Cypress Fairbanks ISD.  I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades, and all subjects.  In addition, I have taught Horizons classes almost every year and have enjoyed sponsoring Hamilton's MANY Destination ImagiNation teams for four years.

Some personal information:  I was born in Chicago, grew up in Miami, Florida, and have lived in Texas for over 30 years.  I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston in 1990 - Go Coogs!  My husband, Brian, is in retail management and real estate, and graduated from the University of North Dakota.  Our daughter, Shannon currently attends Lone Star College with an eye to majoring in business at the University of Houston.  She and her boyfriend, Justin, have a baby daughter (my sweet granddaugter) named Rachel.  I also have a step-daughter, Michelle, who lives in Houston with her husband, Mark, and daughters, Rian and Presley, so yes, I am a grandma times three!  (And yes, we DO have pictures!)  We have a shar-pei/lab named Cinnamon and a spice finch named Nutmeg.  In my spare time (ha!) I LOVE to read, and also garden and sew.  We had a week-long family vacation at the beach in Galveston this summer, and I went on a cruise to Mexico with girlfriends from my high school days LOOOOONNNNNGGG ago.  :)

I am looking forward to a successful and exciting school year as we work together to learn and grow.  I am excited to work as a team, because "Teamwork makes the Dream work!"

The music you are hearing is Shake Russell's "Travelin' Texas," and used to be the theme song for the television show "The Eyes of Texas" on Channel 2, hosted by Ron Stone.  Shake is a local Texas musician; this song is on his CD Before and Now, 1990, R.C. Productions, Jalapeno Records.
